Working at Home

Working at home and doing freelance jobs it the ideal job for me because I get full control over my time and growth. This is what my sister just told me early this day. She says that when you work at home, there are no strict rules, bosses nor stressful deadlines. She may have a point about that. However, there are several disadvantages of not having and employer under your name. If you are doing freelance jobs, the primary concern is about taxes. I don’t really have a solid background about laws of taxation so giving an advice about this is useless. The best way to know about tax laws is to seek the advice of a lawyer. You can easily look for a Lawyer Directory in the internet.

Small things like applying for credit cards or loans are easier if you have a stable and regular job. I remember a friend of mine who works as a freelance writer for different websites and earns twice as much as I do but could not get his credit card approved. As for me, I have a good amount of credit limit that I can use in times of need. Another thing that you may miss when working at home is free health insurance and super annuity. Companies usually provide their employees with free medical insurance or if the company is not that big, they share the insurance premiums with their employees. In addition to insurance, they also have a retirement plan that will guarantee your financial stability even after the age of retirement. There are positive and negative things in both working at home and being employed in a company. Weigh things carefully before making a decision especially if you have a current job that you will have to give up.

Money in Thoughts

If you are just an ordinary person who is seeking an extra stream of income, starting your own blog would be a good option. Blogging is one of the easiest and proven ways to stay at home and earn good money. A person does not need to know any programming language or have high technical skills just to start a blog. Blog about your holiday in Europe, write camera reviews, and publish your thoughts about the latest news on the internet.

Because blogs have a personal approach that most reader prefers. It creates more buzz than any other kind of websites. This is what advertisers are interested in. If you have established a good blog, you can get paid just to review a product. You can also put other ads in your blog like Google adsense, kontera, textlinks and banners. Your income can range from considering your blog as a hobby or a part time job to making a living out of it.

Switch to Save the Planet

Uniqueness is has been the key to success of multi-million websites and this uniqueness is SwitchPlanet.com. Trade is the main concept of the website. Members give something they no longer want or need then get something they really want in return. This service is totally free for all members. This means there is totally no money involved between two members switching items. No one is required to pay anything to SwitchPlanet but an option for donation is present. It seems that SwitchPlanet.com is a non-profit organization as they according to them; donated funds will go to charitable organizations like Red Cross, BGCA, Nature Conservancy, American Cancer Society and Child’s Play Charity.

SwitchPlanet currently allows it members to switch DVDs, CDs, Video Games and Books. The main goal of SwitchPlanet is actually to reduce waste and its impact on our planet. People usually throw anything that they no longer want. But if one can trade this thing, he will rather switch it for something else. I’m guessing that’s how they cam up with they name; to switch and save the planet. The concept is currently running in its beta version but I can tell you now that this is going to be big. It will not take long before people around the world know about this and take advantage of it.

A Business Man Visits a Dentist

Visiting the dentist in definitely on the bottom of my to-do list. Being a busy man, I find it hard to find time for this. I do not have a dentophobia but seeing a dentist is not something that I have never been excited with. I would rather give advice for businesses than sit on a dentist’s chair and let him do horrible things with my mouth. Anyway, we all have different fears and things we do not want to do.

Yesterday, my one of my molars was hurting like hell and I had no choice but to visit a dentist. I do not really know one so I had to ask a friend to refer one. I told that friend about not wanting to go to the dentist and told me a story about sedation dentistry. It was interesting and made me confident to visit a dentist. All went well, I got my tooth pulled and found myself walking out of the clinic smiling.
